So I'm working my way through The Office (US)
Which I had never seen.  After watching the UK version a million times I thought it was time. I just watched the scene where Jim conditions Dwight to expect an Altoid every time Jim reboots his computer. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard in my life.

goldfish945 asked: For College Anon: As a college sophomore, I remember your feels. You have to let go of high school some time. Not necessarily your friends, but HIGH SCHOOL MENTALITY. I didn't have a girl/boyfriend when I left high school, but I literally ran away. I went from southwestern Pennsylvania to southeastern Arizona, and it was the best decision I could've made. The school I go to is in the top...

mazarin221b asked: Ok, butting in - for your anon worried about going to school far away. LISTEN TO LORI, ANON. I made that mistake. I went to school near my house (I lived at home my first year) because it made my parents happy, I got a scholarship there, and my boyfriend of like 9 months was there. It's a decent school but I qualified for so much better, and I could have played NCAA Division 1 Women's...

How I will be watching Sherlock.
Informational post for anyone who hasn’t seen this information yet. Tzikeh and I have A Plan.  Our Plan is to watch the live airing with minimal chatting, then download the torrent when it’s available, and rewatch with extensive chatting. I will be using Expat Shield to watch it on BBC1’s live player.  I just tried it out and it works great.  Expat Shield is a utility that...

Anonymous asked: Thank you very much for your answer. But then how do I deal with the fact that I'm willingly choosing to go to a school that's four hours away from my girlfriend of (as of Feb. 2) a year? My parents have finally gotten used to the fact that I have a girlfriend and I'm very much in love with her. I just hate the idea of being so far away from her...

I have to choose between going to a very expensive, very good private college (University of Pennsylvania) where I would get an awesome education, but at a very high cost, and attending a very good state school (University of Michigan) where I would be able to graduate without student loans. What should I...

I can’t speak for everyone here, but I know I wouldn’t mind not getting a reply to a fairly generic comment. Performance is so enormous, and you’ve gotten so much feedback, I think it’s understandable to only reply to specific inquiries at this point Yeah,...

I am determined to reply to every LJ and AO3...
It’s hard. I am not always super great about replying to comments, which I should endeavor to correct.  But responding isn’t super easy. Some people cite specific things or ask questions and those are easy to reply to.  But a lot of people say something more general, like “thanks for writing, I liked the story” which is GREAT and FINE and I appreciate every single comment,...

I'm not sure if it's my illness on top of the stress, but I'm starting to wonder if I even want to continue with it. So any tips for a fellow scientist? And any particular tips for a fellow female scientist?
